This trip extends learning regarding the life and experiences of soldiers and warfare in British North America before, during, and after the War of 1812.
The morning session will includes an introduction to the site where students learn about the fort's place in the history of Toronto's waterfront, followed by an active tour of the Soldiers' Barracks, the Officers' Barracks & Mess, and the Mess Kitchen. The afternoon session includes an exterior site walk, and two active mini-workshops that engage students in broader conversations around the War of 1812 and the Battle of York.
