Accessibility at The York School

The York School is committed to improving access to our services, programs and facilities in accordance with The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005. We continue to work to eliminate or minimize barriers for persons with disabilities. For more details on The York School’s Accessible Customer Service Policy and our Multi-Year Accessibility Plan we invite you to visit our about us section.

Website: We have partnered with UserWay to ensure our website is as accessible as possible. This is an ongoing process and we are committed to continuously addressing areas identified as barriers to accessibility.

Facilities: Building staff at both campuses of The York School are continuously working on improving accessibility in the school by addressing identified barriers. Accessibility also plays a central role in the new master planning exercise taking place across the two campuses. This exercise will further identify and propose added solutions to any more uncovered barriers.

Learning: The York School Diversity Equity and Inclusion Team has an Accessibility sub-Committee which meets regularly to look at barriers and suggest learning opportunities to faculty, staff and students for the school curriculum and everyday life. Our team of Learning Strategists work to support alternative format requests as well.
