Middle School Athletics

The Gladiator Athletics programme is an integral part of the educational experience at our school. A healthy body/mind balance is one of the The York School’s core values across curricular and co-curricular life.

We are committed to helping students achieve excellence and balance as student-athletes. And we also “play big." Our commitment to sports is reflected in our diverse offerings, widespread participation and level of competitive success (26 CISAA championships since 2014).

All of our student-athletes have access to outstanding facilities that include a double gymnasium (Middle & Senior School), a junior gymnasium (Junior School), a small turf soccer pitch (Middle & Senior School), an indoor 100-metre track and a newly opened Gladiator Fitness Centre with a certified strength and conditioning coach. We also make generous use of the ravines and parks in our neighbourhood for everything from cross country running to ultimate frisbee.

Student-athletes are also supported by outstanding human resources: our staff includes close to 45+ (teams with 75+ dedicated coaches), as well a Director of Athletics and an Athletics Administrative Assistant.

With a clear vision and mission, the Gladiator Athletics programme will continue to thrive along with our student-athletes. Follow us closely—on social media, on the sidelines, or in the sports pages—and see what we have to offer.

Go Gladiators!
