With only seven Grade 10 and one grade 9 suited up, the TYS JV Basketball team travelled to the HoopDome in Downsview for a full day of competitive basketball. The team faced three consecutive opponents: Downsview at 8:30am, CHAT at 11:00am, and Monarch Park at 1:30pm. .
While the scoreboard didn't reflect wins, the day featured many highlights. Josh “Rogers Centre" G-S exemplified the team's fighting spirit with an impressive sequence showcasing his complete game: converting a tough and-one, immediately following with a steal, and then unselfishly dishing an assist to Robert “Rogers Stadium” B for a three-pointer. These moments of excellence demonstrated the talent in this resilient team.
Playing three games in one day with a limited roster is a challenge all our players took on with grit. Each player gave maximum effort and the experience provided invaluable learning opportunities serving as building blocks for the remainder of the season.
Coach Ben and Mr. Corsano commend the team's unwavering commitment and positive attitude throughout the tournament. The lessons learned at the HoopDome will be brought back to practice, where this dedicated group will continue to draw up refined plays for future games.
