Elissa Kline-Beber

Elissa Kline-Beber’s office has become a welcome retreat for students, faculty and staff alike – and for good reason. As the Director of Wellness, Elissa is responsible for the vision and implementation of wellness programming for the whole school.

Elissa is a Registered Social Worker with the OCSWSSW. She completed a Bachelor of Social Work from McGill University; a Master of Social Work from University of Toronto; an Advanced Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Anxiety; and a Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy from OISE. She also and completed the Brief Therapy Clinical Extern programme with Brief Therapy Training Centres International, a division of Hinks-Dellcrest. Prior to The York School, she worked for The Hospital for Sick Children, the Toronto District School Board, Camp Ramah in Canada, and maintains a private practice.

Elissa is a member of The York School community in more ways than one – she is also a York School parent. Elissa and her husband have four sons; one a York School alumni and another a current Senior School student (her family also includes beloved Labradoodle, Wasabi). Elissa and her family love to travel. Her list of destinations includes Kenya, Tanzania, Israel, Mexico, France, Italy, England, Belgium, Greece, Jamaica, Turks and Caicos, China, Singapore, Malaysia and a memorable trip with her entire family to the Galapagos Islands and through the Amazon Rain Forest.

What does Elissa do in her ‘spare’ time? Elissa loves to cook, bake and read.
