Last Thursday, the Grade 6 STEM unit culminated in an exciting event: The Ultimate Flying Machine Air Show. On an earlier field trip, students learned about the principles of flight at the Warplane Heritage Museum. They then applied their knowledge in the classroom, building and testing their own glider that could carry supplies. Students used the design cycle, testing multiple prototypes of their designs before putting them to use. They recorded, graphed and analysed their results. Students showcased creativity in their designs and a great deal of resilience and determination as they worked to make each prototype better than the previous one.
