Karen McCallum-Ryan
Karen's international teaching experience eventually led her back to Canada where she works with the Junior School community to ensure collaborative curriculum planning & implementation of the IB PYP.
As the Junior School Director of Curriculum, Karen works with teachers, students, families and school administration to ensure collaborative curriculum planning and the successful implementation of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP).
Karen has a Masters of Arts in Child Studies and Education from OISE/UT; she’s a member of the OCT; qualified to teach Primary, Junior, Intermediate and Senior and has attended numerous IB PYP workshops as well as the Harvard World Wide course, ‘Making Thinking Thinking Visible Strategies.’
She has worked at schools in five countries: Canada, the US, England, Hong Kong, and Singapore, and has also travelled extensively in Asia, England, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
Karen’s family, including her husband and two sons, keep her very busy and very happy – as does her fixer-upper home in Toronto’s west end, which she has affectionately named "The Wreck."
