Technology | At the York School, students learn with technology in the way that they live with it.
Technology at The York School is fully integrated into our curriculum.

Our students use laptops and tablets to help facilitate learning, communication and collaboration. As a school, we continually seek out and embed innovative strategies, emerging technologies and a variety of information sources into our learning environments. It is our aim to prepare our students for their futures in a rapidly changing world.

Infrastructure

Our technology infrastructure consists of a secure, robust network, a wireless LAN, and numerous printers, scanners, digital cameras, voice recorders, document cameras, digital probes and drawing tablets. All classrooms are equipped with mounted digital projectors, interactive whiteboards and audio equipment. Wireless access points throughout the school ensure access to online encyclopedias, databases, news services, global communications and video streaming in every room.

In addition, students in the Upper School use an online course management system, Blackboard, to provide access to course material and assignments, primary sources, images, discussion material, pertinent websites and many other learning aids. Blackboard gives teachers and students the benefit of ongoing organizational help and data accessible 24/7 via the Internet.
