| Students gain experience and confidence to participate in sport throughout their lives while learning what it means to work together as part of a team.
In our co-ed Sport Development Clinics, aspiring student-athletes in Grades JK to 3 can develop their skills while learning about teamwork, cooperation, fair play and commitment.
In Grades 3, 4 and 5, our boys and girls can join competitive teams including soccer, volleyball, basketball, cross country and track and field. |
Sports Offered - click a sport for more information: High Performance Academies We offer elite training in basketball and volleyball for students interested in participating on our competitive U10 and U11 teams. Our Basketball Academy is led by Roy Rana. Roy is currently the Varsity Men's Head Coach at Ryerson University and Team Canada's Junior National Team Head Coach.
Our Volleyball Academy is led by Kristine Drakich, currently the Women's Varsity Head Coach at the University of Toronto. Kristine has represented Canada on both our Women's Indoor and Beach Volleyball Teams. |

 Strength and Conditioning Athletic Director Rick DeMarinis runs sport-specific fitness and skill training for students prior to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:15 a.m. to 8:10 a.m. The focus of these sessions is on building athletic strength, endurance, flexibility and agility. |

 Sport Development Clinics A positive introduction to athletics, the Sport Development Clinics are open to JK - grade 5 students. We focus on teaching the fundamentals of sport and team participation within a fun and exciting environment.
Our fall Sports Development Clinics include:
- Tennis
- Fitness
- Basketball
- Yoga
These programmes are run by leading athletic organization in Toronto.

 Soccer An excellent team sport, students are introduced to soccer on the U10/U11 Co-Ed Soccer Team. They learn team building and the basics of play within an inclusive, coed environment.

 Volleyball York students are introduced to volleyball in the Junior Development League where they learn basic skills, fair play and cooperation in a coed league.
Girls in Lower School can advance to competitive volleyball on the U12 Girls' team. They compete against other independent schools in CISSA league during the winter season.
Look for our girls to bring home a championship in the near future. |

 Basketball Junior School boys and girls learn the fundamentals of basketball through the from court basics to fair play.
Competitive basketball is available for both the U10/U11-level for boys and at the U11-level for girls. |

 Cross Country For those who love running, competitive cross county is offered on coed U10 and U11 teams. Our teams practise weekly and compete in various meets against other CISAA schools and in invitational meets, both locally and regionally. This team is open to Grade 3 students who are learning to train and will compete in two meets. Grade 4 and 5 students are able to compete in all meets and championships. |

 Track and Field The York School’s track and field programme is open to Grade 4 and 5 students.
Our athletes learn the fundamentals of track and field, goal setting, and an introduction to competition.
The U10/11 team competes in both CISAA events. |
