| Our Approach | The York School’s mission is to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who are engaged citizens of the world. |
| We are a co-educational, non-denominational, independent day school that has been bringing lessons to life for 45 years. We earned the honour of being the first school in Canada and the fourth in North America accredited to offer the International Baccalaureate programme for students from Junior Kindergarten to grade 12.
The IB Diploma is the ultimate passport that opens doors for our graduates and enables them to enter the best post-secondary institutions throughout the world, confident that they are equipped with the knowledge and skills required to achieve success.
Our academics and student life provide a holistic approach to education, while our co-curricular programme offers a diverse range of activities outside the classroom.
As an IB World School, our students learn through inquiry-based instruction in all subject areas including Mathematics, Visual Arts, Drama, Music, Physical Education, French, Science and Social Studies.
At York, students are encouraged to:
explore, wonder and question
experiment and play with possibilities
research and seek information
develop and test theories
elaborate on solutions to problems
With our small class sizes, children receive the individual attention and support they need to thrive emotionally, physically and intellectually. |
