This week, The York School has 258 students and 42 teachers scattered across North America for Challenge Week. Students are taking part in hands-on experiences that extend their learning beyond the classroom and integrate our experiential approach. Challenge Week directly supports our school’s mission to “develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who are engaged citizens of the world.”

Challenge Week integrates exposes students to authentic experiences in the hopes of igniting a spark of deeper interest, and making connections to their overall learning. During Challenge Week, students have unique and inspiring opportunities to develop interpersonal skills and tools to help them work effectively and reflectively as a team. Ultimately, the experiences lead to greater self-esteem and awareness. Year after year, our students identify Challenge Week as one of the most memorable parts of their York School experience.
